And well there should be. I am not a Catholic and certainly not in a position to dictate to them. I think we all remember, however, the upheaval when Notre Dame University had the dim bulb speak to the graduating class this year. The after effects continue. I love this statement from the Cardinal Newman Society. "The Catholic community and Catholic institutions should not honor those who act in defiance of our fundamental moral principles. They should not be given awards, honors, or platforms which would suggest support for their actions." The hierarchy needs to wake up and get it right before they lose everything they have ever stood for. I don't understand either. It is like the Republican party. They are both more popular when they state their values and then follow them without wavering.
