How in the world will my tomatoes and cukes ripen when it never gets above 71? Fuzzy science at its best.
Just think, if the cap and trade legislation passes and is signed into law we will be paying in excess of $100,000 per pound for tomatoes. Brilliant, Holmes!

Today there was an article on this site ttp://www.kcrg.com/news/local/52030652.html today about Iowa's record cool summer. I can't get the site to open on my old computer but I will tell you that the site tells about how we are setting records. I think they said the other coldest summer was in the 1800s somewhere. Any jerk can see that weather changes all the time. That is nature. I hear lots of people complaining about their gardens but I sure have enjoyed this pleasant weather this summer and it has made yard work and mowing a lot easier. Al Gore will be upset if he doesn't have the weather cooperate so he can continue to spew his poison in order to get more people to invest in his money making green crap.

I jumped the gun here. It got all the way up to 68 today. Can you believe that, July 29 with a high of 68?

At least you got some. Out of all of our tomatoes...only one plant has tomatoes on it. Oue cucumbers look sad. Watermelon...well they are going to be mulch, along with the carrots, peas, corn, and onions. We did have good radishes this year and abundant lettuce. We have 44 head of cattle we will be buying hay for because the hay didnt do much, the field corn is as bad as our sweet corn, and we just let them loose in the woods to eat the brush down. It has been a very dismal year. But the raspberries (wild) did good this year and the blueberries seem to be coming right along. As well as our strawberry patch. uuugh.
