Bret Favre is staying retired and won't be playing quarterback for the Minnesota Viqueens. Here is my take on this ---- so what. We will have a $1.6 trillion deficit this year and we are on the verge of government healthcare. And I am supposed to worry about minutia like the Favre situation. Frankly, I don't care if Sid Hartman is the Viqueens quarterback. Somehow priorities are messed up here.

How true Buck,,, for many years I watched pro sports faithfully. Then one year I realized,,, it is a beautiful Sept. Sunday afternoon,,what am I doing sitting indoors wasting 4 hours ? There are a few,,and that is, d**n few, of these self-centered pro athletes that are actually 'good' citizens and do good things in the community and share some of their wealth,,just as there are a few hollywood stars that do.But,,for the most part it is so insignificant,,it doesn't merit our attention. Our society is so messed up on priorities it isn't even funny.
I can't remember if it is Jeter or A-Rod for the Yankees that makes 20 million a year,,figure that out. In a 165 game season (no playoffs),,, he receives, if he plays every game,,,get this,, $13,468 for every inning he plays. Or,,an average game is 3 hours,,how about $40,404 per hour !?! Oh,,I know,,they have pre-season and so on,,but who cares,,it is so out of whack.

I also agree. We are a really messed up society. Look at the Michael Jackson death and how much was spent on his funeral. Also if I hear one more thing about Brett Favre or Michael Vick I'm going to scream.
