On the old forum you posted three recipes for salad dressings. I tried two of them and they were fantastic. As I recall they used either blue cheese or buttermilk or both. Unfortunately I didn't print them off and I am not astute at computers. I would like to find those again. If they are still available I would really like to have them again. I promise this time I will print them off. I'll bet that our other members would enjoy them too. You are ten times better with the computer than I am. I don't want you to spend much time, but if they are readily available I would love them. Thanks.

Thank you very much. Boy does this bring back some good memories.
For any of you new people I would encourage you to build a beaudacious salad and try one of these dressings. You won't regret it. mndapa1 knows a thing or two about food preparations that are worth eating and then some.

I will be fixing the home made blue cheese dressing (#4). We have left over butter milk since Mrs. Robely made a buttermilk chess pie last night and it didn't use up all the buttermilk. We always have blue cheese around and I just had to pick up the plain yogurt. Yum ---- I love salads and these are good recipes. See you don't have to spend a fortune going out to eat when you can fix better food at home. Thanks, mndapa1.

That buttermilk chess pie sounds great. Is it sort of like a vinegar pie? I love the old recipes that were used long ago when people didn't have many ingredients. I have an old WWI or WWII recipe book that tells how to make things when you don't have much for ingredients. I am going to give some of them a try.

All I can say is, "Wow". The salad dressing was spectacular. The great thing is it lends itself to any combination of items in your salad. I always use Romaine lettuce rather than bib lettuce but it just doesn't matter. You can make an entire meal out of your salad by adding some sliced hard boiled eggs and some chunks of grilled or smoked boneless, skinless chicken breast or smoked turkey. You can add blanched green beans or raw zuchini. It just doesn't matter.
All I can say is, this one is a keeper.
Hasset I will post the recipe for the buttermilk chess pie one of these days. It is almost like a custard. A friend of mine turned me on to this and it is most likely to be found in Texas home cooking.
