Obviously the libs like to blame Christians for everything. Ridiculous!

Kris and Adam had two very different styles of singing. They were both very good singers. I just think more people liked Kris Allen's style better.

Chaplains are usually very cool (and I don't mean GOOD, I mean Cold) because there are so many different denominations in the Army or anywhere else (hospitals, prisons, etc.) and they don't want to step on toes. Burning the Bibles was really bad though. I doubt those soldiers went out of their way to recruit Muslims. I heard Trinity Broadcasting Network say that since they have been having TV programs in the middle east, they have had a huge response from Muslims who want to know more and want Bibles. Why should we help keep Muslims from learning something for themselves just because their rulers do not believe in freedom of religion?

As you will recall, our Uncle Lyle was a chaplain or a social worker in the California prison system at one time. As I recall it was pretty frustrating for him.

Yah, and it about broke his spirit. He would think he was getting somewhere with some of the prisoners and then they would do something terrible. One commited suicide and it about broke our uncle's heart. He meant well but I really believe that social work done the way the Salvation Army does it is the way to go. I am for privatizing about everything. The Salvation Army doesn't support people forever. You get counseling, food and shelter, and you are expected to do some work like sweep the floor, do the dishes, etc. and try to get back on your feet. I think churches do a better job at helping people. The government has been doing it for over 60 yrs. and it has increased the number of people on welfare as a permanent way of life and hasn't helped the problem. (note: my spell check doesn't work and I am the world's worst speller! sorry)

I would tend to agree with you on your assessment. I am sure you remember that I competed in weightlifting competitions all over the country and in Canada. I got to know many of the world's best in the early 70's. I was able to hook our uncle up with Chuck Sipes, an incredible person. Chuck went in to the prisons with our uncle and gave talks and put on some amazing performances. I guess you have to reach people any way possible. I thought you might like to see a little about the amazing Mr. Sipes. www.ifbb.com/viewfamous.php?id=32&circa=2002This guy was famous for being able to blow up those heavy rubber hot water bottles until they burst. Have a nice weekend.

I will go to the computer and look up that site. What I didn't understand about our uncle is that he kept talking about "the haves and the have nots". He was a true old time Democrat because he thought being able to make good money was evil. ( Actually, that isn't the truth anymore. Now the Democrats in Congress are the richest and getting richer.) He was a psychiastrist and could have made good money if he hadn't have wanted to work as a chaplain/psychiatrist in a prison in California. That I understand but if you look at why some people have more money than others, you can see the reason. I could have made more money if I had kept on teaching school but I thought it was more important to stay home to do a good job at raising kids. It is a choice. I could use the retirement money now but I am happier at how wonderful my kids turned out and it was truly easy to raise kids my way. My husband never wanted me to work anyway. Our uncle left his wife because she had lots of money and he didn't think it was right to live on her money. That I never understood either. I think when you get married, you share things and you aren't supposed to have his and her funds. Oh, well, our uncle was a wonderful man anyway and I really miss him. I talked to him on the phone frequently and I miss him now that he is gone.
