My step-son's birthday is in September and my son's in November. I have decided that I am going to purchase memberships for both in the National Rifle Association. I can't imagine a better group to invest in. They are so pro-American (at least the America we believe in). For any of the rest of you this would make a wonderful birthday gift. They are trying to solicit new members and they support our freedoms. Anyone care to join me?

That is a good idea. I hope they appreciate the gift. My kids hate guns and said they are never coming home if I get one. Maybe they would read the magazine you get when you join the NRA and get more educated. I joined and I want my husband to join also so we wouldn't consider our membership a join one. That is a very good idea, Buck. Consider it done!

Just tell them that if you knew that was all it would take you would have armed yourself years ago! What is with the bubble-wrap generation? Hate guns? Bet they have a prius, and a do-it-yourself tofu kit! Maybe you could just get them a "walking helmet"? www.copenhagenize.com/2009/08/walking-helmet-is-good-helmet.html

piperdown - the "walking helmet" is crazy. Next thing you know we will have to wear a helmet and padded suits to cross the street.
