'If you don't read the newspaper you are uninformed, if you do read the newspaper you are misinformed.' -Mark Twain I do not know how newspapers can keep alive now that we have the internet so full of better things to read. A person has to decide if he is uninformed or misinformed and it is easier to do while reading lots of different accounts of the same event on the internet.

As we all know papers are in big trouble. We dropped our subscription to the Brainerd paper some months ago. It made no sense to continue our subscription when by the time we received it we had already read the various articles on-line. I have a feeling that at some point papers will be almost entirely on-line. The one thing local paper provide are the local stories, obits, etc. but those can even be found on-line.

Local newspapers and TV stations make me feel hopeless. I do not like their stories and how they editorialize everything that should only have the facts. I don't miss them at all. As for obits, I know when my friends die or get married or have a baby. I can get the weather on some national news.
