We just noticed today that we have a pair of redstarts nest building in one of our balsam fir trees. When Mrs. Robely brushes the dogs she throws the hair out in the yard. That is what they are picking up. They are so pretty. We always see them in the summer but have never had them setting up house keeping where we can see them.
What are the rest of you seeing these days?

My neighbor has some Scotch pine trees with some old established poison ivy vines growing all the way to their tops. I told him I would try to get the poison ivy removed but there is a robin on a nest half way up one tree. That bird has attacked me so badly that I can't get my job finished. She is doing a good job of protecting her little ones. At least it only takes a few weeks and then the babies will be off on their own and I can finish the job.
