The senate recently passed a HUGE land bill that has put over 2 million acres of land under wilderness protection, no drilling, no vehicles, no mining, nothing. What a great move toward reducing our dependence on foreign oil and creating jobs. NOT! This is an interesting read from the USGS. Their assessment is that 3 to 4.3 billion barrels of technically recoverable oil exists in North Dakota's and Montana's Bakken formation - 25 times more than their 1995 estimate. This begs the question, where is the Senate leadership from those two states? Correct me if I am wrong but aren't three of the four senators from those two state Democrats? If they don't want to think about America first at least they could think about their home states. www.usgs.gov/newsroom/article.asp?ID=1911

They are shutting down operations up there as I post this...mass layoffs. In TX and OK too.
America wants cheap petro...but do not understand the cost to the security of our country. The largest oil reserve has been capped for three decades in Alaska. It has more oil than Saudia Arabi and Iraq combined...but you never hear anything about it. I will post the story later. I don't listen to Alex Jones much, but it was sent to me during a debate with ecologists on the Brakken Shelf andd the Shale Oil deposits in NE MN and NW WI.

Besides not letting us use our own resources for fuel, we also can't use our resources for fire prevention. My cousin in Nevada (89% of Nevada is government land) said that you can't run cattle on government land anymore. All the sage brush used to be kept down by grazing animals but now the sage gets to grow big enough for dry lightning to start fires. CONTROL CONTROL CONTROL
