The wolf population apparently has expanded into our area. Mrs. Robely spotted one while driving the other day. I spoke with a gent yesterday from Crosslake who has seen them off and on all summer. People have been warned to keep a short leash on small dogs and their cats.
Anyone else spotted one this year?

I haven't seen one myself. I know there have been several spotted in the Pine River area. I wonder why the population has expanded?

A friend in Jenkins has also spotted a wolf on the east side of Hwy.371. There are not a lot of houses on the east side and this one was spotted within a block of residential area.
Just like black bear, and deer,,,we are more in their natural habitat than they are in ours. I'm actually surprised we do not see more and have more encounters with them.
