Has anyone ever had a green tomato pie? I found a recipe in an antique cookbook and I think I will try it if I end up with green tomatoes at the end of the season. I think 100 yrs. ago people made pie out of about anything.

One of my bitter friends from Louisianna makes fried green tomatoes and green tomato pies and loves them.

We returned home to a load of ripe tomatoes, both yellow and red. I am in the process of preparing tomatoes for freezing. Mrs. Robely did four quarts yesterday and I should be able to do that amount today. We still have a ton more still ripening. Finally, they were really slow this year. I blame it on Al Gorp.

Just prepared two more quarts for freezing and we still have a load more to go. Last year was so bad that we only had seven quarts going into the winter. We already have 12 with quite a few more to go. Our orange tomatoes are ripening and huge.
What do the rest of you have to report? By the way, I hope none of you turn me in to the feds. for an inspection of our property. Botox lady would probably want our property inspected and then quarantined.

You had better keep your success to yourself so Obama will not come and tax your tomatoes and make you give most of them to the people who didn't have gardens this year.
